Q2 | Can you explain what is difference between Ar Rahnu and conventional pawn broking?
Conventional pawn broking involves interest or riba. Ar Rahnu does not have riba or any elements which are prohibited (haram) for muslims.

Q3 | But you still charge a percentage 1.0% to 1.5% pm?
This percentage represents storage fee not interest.
Conventional pawn broking charges interest on the amount you borrow. Ar Rahnu charges a storage fee on the items you place with us.

Q4 | But isn’t it the same? It looks the same.
Like many shariah products and services, it may look the same but there is actually a significant difference. For example, take food. A chicken with no halal logo and a chicken with a halal logo. Both chicken look and taste the same. There is no difference from the appearance. But Muslims know that only the one with the halal cert is allowed. It is the same with normal pawn broking versus ar rahnu.
