In response to the demands of extended underwater ventures, Rolex introduced the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller in 1967. Through ongoing collaboration with Comex (Compagnie Maritime d’Expertises) experts, it has been continuously enhanced and is currently water-resistant to depths of 1,220 meters (4,000 feet). Designed specifically for saturation diving, the Sea-Dweller is equipped with a helium escape valve, allowing it to endure decompression during ascent and successfully navigate the crucial return to the surface, marking the culmination of deep-sea exploration.
